“The Nation Is Ignorant”: Noman Ijaz Reacts Angrily to Criticism Over Performing After Ablution
Lahore: Senior and versatile Pakistani actor Noman Ijaz has issued a clarification after facing criticism on social media over his statement about performing his work after performing ablution (wudu).
In a recent interview, Noman Ijaz said that his remarks were taken out of context and turned into a joke, adding that his intention was only to share a piece of advice taught by elders. Expressing frustration, he remarked that “our nation is ignorant” for misinterpreting such statements.
The actor explained that elders have always advised leaving home for work after performing ablution, as it brings blessings in sustenance. However, he said some people deliberately twisted his words and began mocking him by claiming that he works with non-mahram women while in a state of ablution.
Noman Ijaz said people often cannot tolerate the happiness or success of others and resort to unnecessary criticism. He emphasized that one should feel happy for others, as sharing joy brings blessings and positivity in life, but society has not abandoned the habit of jealousy.
It may be recalled that a clip of Noman Ijaz recently went viral in which he stated that he performs his work after ablution, and that Allah blesses his work in showbiz, making it appreciated by audiences. He had said that his success was not due to his own merit but purely the grace of God. Following the clip, several social media users mocked him and made inappropriate comments.
Noman Ijaz has delivered numerous acclaimed performances throughout his career and is known for his strong portrayal of diverse characters. Recently, he has received praise for his performances in successful projects such as Bismil, Parwarish, and Shar Pasand.
