NEPRA Announces Reduction in Electricity Prices for Consumers Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification announcing a reduction in electricity prices for consumers of both government-run power distribution companies (DISCOs) and K-Electric.
According to the notification:
DISCO consumers will benefit from a decrease of Rs. 0.49 per unit, applicable under the May Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA).
K-Electric consumers will see a larger reduction of Rs. 4.60 per unit, under the April FCA.
The reduction will be applicable to all consumer categories of DISCOs and K-Electric except:
Lifeline consumers
Prepaid meter users
Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations
This move is aimed at providing relief to electricity consumers in light of fluctuating fuel costs and is part of NEPRA’s regular monthly adjustments based on fuel price variations.
