Sons of Imran Khan Have the Right to Join the Movement, Says Salman Akram Raja

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja stated that Imran Khan’s sons have every right to join the political movement, emphasizing that the family’s connection to PTI is of a unique nature. He also questioned the feasibility of achieving a two-thirds majority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where PTI already holds 85% of the seats.
Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Salman Akram Raja clarified that it is the constitutional right of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to have their request for suspension of sentences heard promptly. He further stressed that stepping out for one’s rights is not wrong, citing historical examples such as Benazir Bhutto’s movements and others that spanned several days on the streets.
Addressing the issue of political changes in the province, Raja pointed out that in order to alter the status of a province, a two-thirds majority is required. He raised doubts about how the provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could secure such a majority, despite PTI already holding 85% of the seats.
Raja also remarked on the situation regarding PTI’s Ali Amin Gandapur, stating that he does not face any threat from his own party members, but any external conspiracies against him will be challenged.
