Major Setback for ANP in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Key Leader Joins PML-N

Peshawar: In a significant political blow to the Awami National Party (ANP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a prominent party leader has joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to Express News, Samar Bilour — the widow of Haroon Bilour and daughter-in-law of veteran ANP leader Bashir Bilour — has officially joined PML-N. She made the announcement during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stating that a formal announcement from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat will follow soon.
Samar Bilour, who was elected as a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from her late husband Haroon Bilour’s constituency, had distanced herself from ANP activities due to internal differences with the party leadership. There were earlier speculations about her possible move to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), but she has now aligned herself with PML-N.
Meanwhile, senior ANP leader Haji Ghulam Bilour has decided to remain with the party. Sources close to him confirmed that he has no intention of leaving ANP, emphasizing his long-standing loyalty and sacrifices for the party.
It is worth noting that tomorrow marks the seventh death anniversary of Haroon Bilour, who was martyred in a suicide attack during the 2018 election campaign.
