Chairman Senate Calls for Justice, Dialogue, and Human Dignity at Global Peace Conference

Venice: Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani, delivered a significant address at the Global Peace Conference in Venice, urging the international community to prioritize justice, dialogue, and human dignity for lasting peace.
The conference, themed “Challenges to Global Peace Today,” saw participation from prominent Pakistani and European personalities. During his speech, Gillani paid tribute to Shahbaz Bhatti, the slain Pakistani Minister, describing him as a symbol of sacrifice for global conscience. He emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always been a staunch advocate of justice and interfaith harmony.
Gillani appealed to the global community to place importance on justice, dialogue, and human dignity in the pursuit of peace, asserting that true peace is not merely the absence of war but the presence of justice.
Sharing a deeply personal story about the abduction of his son, Gillani emotionally connected with the participants, urging global powers to act out of moral responsibility, not just vested interests.
The Chairman also stressed the need for the international community to mobilize global conscience for the resolution of the Kashmir issue, calling the Venice conference a testament to Pakistan’s commitment to interfaith harmony and peace. He described the event as more than just a conference, but a global pledge to peace.
