Trump Thanks Pakistan’s Leadership for Role in Regional Mediation and Strait of Hormuz Developments

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed gratitude to Pakistan, praising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their reported role in facilitating regional diplomatic efforts, including developments linked to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement shared on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump thanked Pakistan’s leadership, describing both the prime minister and the field marshal as “great personalities” and acknowledging their contribution to dialogue and mediation efforts.
He also extended appreciation to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar for their “strong support and cooperation” in regional stability efforts.
The remarks came amid reports that Iran had reopened the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping following a ceasefire-related understanding in Lebanon. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had earlier stated that the waterway would remain open for international maritime traffic during the ceasefire period.
