Balochistan Government Releases Historic Rs50 Billion Development Funds on First Day of Fiscal Year

Quetta:In a landmark move, the Balochistan government has released Rs50 billion in development funds on the very first day of the new fiscal year 2025–26, marking an unprecedented step in the province’s financial history. The Finance Department issued the official notification shortly after midnight on July 1, ensuring immediate activation of development projects across the province.

The decision reflects the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the swift implementation efforts led by Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan. Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon and his team executed the fund disbursement for already approved projects, enabling the prompt commencement of development work.

Officials stated that the released funds will support priority sectors such as health, education, irrigation, roads, drinking water, and energy. The goal is to accelerate the implementation of projects and deliver rapid benefits to the people of Balochistan.

This early release also highlights the government’s commitment to transparency, effective resource utilization, and service delivery. It sets a new precedent not only for Balochistan but also serves as a model for other provinces in Pakistan, indicating a shift towards proactive planning and execution in public sector development.

Last year, the government’s consistent monitoring and strategic planning enabled the timely completion of several public interest projects. By maintaining this momentum, the Balochistan government aims to further improve infrastructure, public services, and economic opportunities in the province.
