New Pre-Monsoon Spell Begins in Punjab; Weather Forecast for Next 5 Days

Lahore: A new pre-monsoon spell has begun across Punjab, with experts forecasting a mix of light to heavy rain and strong winds for the next 4 to 5 days.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that a fresh pre-monsoon system has entered the region today, which will bring intermittent rains and gusty winds throughout the province, including Lahore.
The city of Lahore is currently experiencing intense humidity, with light rain expected during the day and heavier showers anticipated later in the night. While the weather change may provide some relief to residents, it could also lead to emergency situations for relevant authorities.
The minimum temperature in Lahore today is expected to be around 26°C, while the maximum temperature will reach 32°C.
The previous day’s rain not only disrupted daily life but also severely impacted development projects in the city. Due to ongoing construction, water accumulated on several roads, causing traffic disruptions for residents. The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) had set a target to complete these projects by today (June 30), while WASA has announced that its projects will be finished by July 31. Citizens are concerned that if the development work is not completed on time, the situation could worsen during the monsoon rains.
Given the new spell of rain, all relevant authorities have been urged to remain on alert and ensure that drainage systems are operational to avoid further difficulties for residents.
