CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Orders Increase in Electric Buses for Southern Punjab

Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the provision of additional electric buses to the districts of Southern Punjab, emphasizing equitable development for rural areas.
According to Geo News, the directive came during a meeting chaired by Maryam Nawaz, where she was briefed on the ongoing transport projects by the Transport Department. During the session, the Chief Minister expressed her commitment to improving the transportation infrastructure in Southern Punjab to ensure it is on par with the province’s major cities.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need to change the prevailing culture of prioritizing large cities for new projects, stating, “We must ensure that every region gets equal opportunities for development.” She further added that the government is working on bringing rural areas up to the standard of big cities.
As part of her vision for improving transportation, the Chief Minister announced that 600 additional electric buses will be introduced in Punjab between November and December of this year. This move is aimed at improving public transport and reducing environmental impact across the province.
