“Migrating is Not a Crime, Leaving One’s Homeland is a Painful Necessity: Maryam Nawaz”

Lahore: On the occasion of World Refugee Day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed that migrating is not a crime, and leaving one’s homeland is a painful necessity. In her message, she emphasized that no one willingly becomes a refugee. People are forced to leave their homes and land to save their lives.
She added that being a refugee is not a crime, but a heartbreaking compulsion. “Wars may end, but the homelessness of refugees continues to affect generations. The displaced individuals from Palestine and Syria serve as a stern test for humanity,” she stated.
Maryam Nawaz also highlighted that the world should recognize that those seeking refuge are not weak, but victims of injustice. She noted that despite limited resources, Pakistan has generously hosted millions of refugees with dignity.
“Pakistan has always been the voice of the oppressed, and we will continue to raise our voice for the welfare of refugees,” she said.
In her message, the Punjab Chief Minister prayed for global peace, the end of oppression, and the peace and comfort of every human being.
