National Party Pays Tribute to Balochistan Martyrs, Calls for Political Resolution
Quetta:In a released statement, the provincial spokesperson of the National Party expressed profound respect for the relentless struggle and sacrifices of Nawab Noroz Khan of Balochistan, his son, and their companions, describing them as pivotal figures who chose the gallows as a testament to national ideology and theory, marking a historic moment in history.
The statement highlighted Islamabad’s ongoing misuse of power, while emphasizing Nawab Noroz Khan’s steadfast and resolute struggle against the authoritarian rule of Ayub Khan and the One Unit system. It underscored his unwavering commitment to principles and theories throughout his life.
Addressing current developments, the statement criticized the government’s escalating use of force in Balochistan, deeming it counterproductive. Instead, it called for a cessation of coercive measures and urged the government to pursue a political solution to the province’s issues, echoing the National Party’s consistent stance that Balochistan’s problems are political and should be resolved through political means. The statement emphasized that dialogue, negotiation, and consensus-building are the only viable pathways towards progress in Balochistan.
Referring to the tragic events of July 15, 1960, as one of the darkest days in the nation’s history, where the sanctity of the Holy Quran was desecrated during the sentencing of Nawab Noroz Khan and his companions, the statement condemned the unjust imprisonment of Nawab Noroz Khan and the execution of his son and comrades.
Conclusively, the National Party reiterated its unwavering respect and honor for the sacrifices, struggles, and commitment of Balochistan’s martyrs, pledging to uphold their legacy with national pride.
