Earthquake Tremors Shake Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Magnitude 5.7 Reported

ISLAMABAD: Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, triggering panic among residents who rushed out of homes and offices reciting prayers.

According to reports, tremors were also experienced in multiple cities including Peshawar, Swat, Malakand, Buner, Dir, Swabi, Nowshera, Abbottabad, and Mansehra, causing widespread alarm.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that the earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale with a depth of 170 kilometers. The epicenter was located in Tajikistan, but shockwaves were felt across various parts of Pakistan.

Initial reports confirmed no immediate loss of life or property damage; however, relevant authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and assess any possible impact.
