Lahore: Hasan Murtaza, General Secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Punjab, has stated that imposing restrictions on political parties is not the right decision. According to Express News, addressing concerns over Article 6 and imposition of restrictions on leaders, Hasan Murtaza emphasized that political differences should not result in the dissolution of any party. He highlighted that adherence to democratic norms is essential for political parties.
Referring to the historical context of Article 6, which was not applied to former Generals Musharraf and Zia-ul-Haq, Murtaza clarified that party leaders and workers should not fall under Article 6. He further added that solutions to national issues lie not in restrictions but in dialogue.
