Bangladesh Breaks 13-Year-Old T20 Record Against Pakistan Despite Series Whitewash

LAHORE:The Bangladesh cricket team set a new milestone on Sunday by breaking their 13-year-old T20 International record against Pakistan during the third and final match of the series held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Batting first under the captaincy of **Liton Das**, the Bengal Tigers posted their **highest-ever T20I total against Pakistan** — **196/6 in 20 overs**. This surpasses their previous best of **175/6**, achieved back in 2012 at Pallekele.

Key contributions came from **Parvez Hossain Emon**, who scored a solid **66 runs**, and **Tanzid Hasan**, who added **42 runs** to the scoreboard, helping Bangladesh set a competitive target.

However, despite the historic batting performance, **Pakistan clinched a 7-wicket victory**, completing a clean sweep of the three-match series. The Green Shirts successfully chased down the **197-run target** in the **18th over**, with **Mohammad Haris** leading the charge. He remained unbeaten on **107 runs**, while **Saim Ayub** contributed **45 runs**.

The match was a bittersweet moment for Bangladesh — a record-breaking innings but another loss in the series.
