Dubai Police Bust Organized Begging Ring, 41 Arrested in Hotel Raid

Dubai:In a major crackdown, **Dubai Police have arrested 41 individuals** involved in **organized begging activities**, following a covert operation dubbed **”Al-Misbah”**. The suspects were staying in a hotel and had entered the UAE on **visit visas**.
During the raid, police recovered **over AED 60,000** (equivalent to approximately **PKR 4.6 million**) from the arrested individuals. According to officials, the group was **posing as street vendors**, selling **prayer beads and religious items** in various parts of Dubai while **soliciting money under false pretenses**.
### Operation Details:
The sting operation was carried out by the **Suspects and Criminal Phenomena Department** under the **General Department of Criminal Investigation**.
* The operation began after a tip-off was received via the **901 call center**, reporting suspicious individuals selling religious goods and asking for money.
* **Three Arab nationals** were arrested on the spot during surveillance.
* During interrogation, they **confessed** to being part of a **well-organized begging network**.

Dubai Police have reiterated their **zero-tolerance policy towards begging**, calling it a **criminal offense** and a **threat to public order and safety**. Authorities warned that such activities not only exploit public emotions but also involve **visa violations and misuse of religious symbols**.
