Saudi Arabia Welcomes Gaza Ceasefire Agreement, Calls for Lasting Peace Based on Two-State Solution

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has welcomed the **ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas**, describing it as a vital step toward achieving **comprehensive and lasting peace** in Gaza.
In an official statement, the **Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs** praised the **active role of U.S. President Donald Trump** and the **mediation efforts by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey**, which helped make the historic deal possible.
The Kingdom expressed hope that the agreement would **alleviate the humanitarian suffering** of the Palestinian people, ensure the **complete withdrawal of Israeli forces**, and contribute to **stability and peace** in the region.

Reiterating its long-standing stance, Saudi Arabia emphasized that a **just and enduring peace** can only be achieved through the **two-state solution**, based on the **1967 borders**, establishing an **independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital**, in accordance with **UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative**, and **international consensus**.
