Balochistan Government Launches Probe into Irregularities in Education Department’s Cluster Budget Allocation
Quetta:The Balochistan government has initiated an investigation into irregularities regarding the allocation of funds in the education department’s cluster budget, which are intended for school maintenance. This decision came after a review by a scrutiny team appointed by the Chief Minister, which uncovered discrepancies in the utilization of funds allocated to various divisions.
According to CMIT officials, the education department allocates cluster budgets for maintenance work in schools across the province. However, complaints of mismanagement prompted the government to task a three-member committee for each division to assess the projects funded under the cluster budget.
The CMIT officials will compile their findings after inspecting schools in all divisions, and submit their report to the Chief Minister and Education Minister. Based on this report, action may be taken against officers involved in irregularities related to minor expenditures within the cluster budget, as revealed during the investigation.
