Pakistani Security Forces Conduct Airstrikes in Afghanistan, 22 Militants Killed

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have carried out airstrikes against alleged terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan under the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq, killing 22 militants, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The ministry said the operation was conducted on the basis of confirmed intelligence and targeted key hideouts of militants associated with Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) and Fitna al-Hindustan at two separate locations inside Afghanistan.

According to the statement, 22 militants were killed in the airstrikes, while large quantities of modern weapons, ammunition and other military supplies stored at the targeted hideouts were also destroyed.

The Ministry of Information said the action was carried out under the framework of Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq and the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, with the primary objective of eliminating terrorism originating from across the border.

The ministry described the continued presence of terrorist safe havens on Afghan soil as a serious concern for Pakistan, saying the country continues to face a persistent terrorist threat from Afghanistan.

It further stated that maximum possible measures were taken during the operation to ensure the safety of civilians and prevent loss of life or property.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Ministry of Information said the safety of Pakistani citizens and protection of the country’s borders remain its top priorities.

The ministry added that Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq would continue with full force and momentum until terrorism allegedly supported and facilitated by foreign elements is completely eliminated. Security forces and law-enforcement agencies, it said, remain fully committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism from the country.
