Pakistan Army Spokesperson Slams India as “Top Sponsor of Terrorism in the Region” – Highlights Air Battle as Turning Point

ISLAMABAD:Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has strongly criticized India, labeling it as the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the region. In an interview with Al Jazeera, the Pakistan Army spokesperson said the world witnessed the air battle on the night of May 6 and 7, which showcased the unmatched professionalism and technological superiority of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). He stated that the operation will be studied in air warfare colleges and military institutions for decades.

“The battle of truth is not just a military campaign—it is a moral stand against lies, deceit, and Indian aggression,” he emphasized. “The joy and celebrations across Pakistani streets and cities are a testament to the people’s unity and pride. We always say, ‘this is our battle, but victory belongs to Allah’.”

Referring to recent events, Gen. Chaudhry said India fabricated stories after the Pahalgam incident, but Pakistan challenged it to provide credible evidence through a neutral international body. “India failed to respond with proof—then and now,” he added.

He accused India of conducting an unprovoked operation on May 6–7 without any moral justification. “Pakistan remained transparent, truthful, and consistent, while India’s state machinery and media spread misinformation,” he said.

Highlighting India’s use of media manipulation, he remarked, “India has a highly developed film and propaganda industry, which they use to create false narratives. Just yesterday, they falsely claimed Pakistan attacked the Golden Temple—an outrageous lie. Pakistan deeply respects Sikh holy sites like Nankana Sahib, Panja Sahib, and Kartarpur Sahib. We have deep-rooted cultural and linguistic ties with the Sikh community, especially in Punjab.”

Gen. Chaudhry questioned India’s credibility, saying, “How can the world trust a country where generals lie on national television, thousands of websites are shut down, and dissenting journalists are jailed? Pakistan, throughout this conflict, has not arrested a single journalist.”

He also lauded the cohesion of Pakistan’s military forces and their synchronization with political leadership and the public, calling it a “steel wall” of resistance—**Bunyan al-Marsous**—against Indian aggression.

Praising the air force and pilots, he said, “We are proud of the PAF. The aerial battle on May 6–7 will be remembered for generations. Our JF-17 Thunder, J-10C jets, Fatah-1 and Fatah-2 missiles are prime examples of Pakistan’s technological advancements.”

He concluded by noting that Pakistan has not yet used its full conventional military strength, as a significant portion remains engaged in operations against India-backed terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “The world knows India is the biggest sponsor of terrorism in this region. We’ve neither withdrawn troops from these operations nor revealed our full technological capabilities.”
