Schools in Punjab to Reopen from April 1, Announces Provincial Education Minister

Islamabad: Punjab is set to resume educational activities as Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that all schools, colleges, and educational institutions across the province will reopen from April 1.

According to the minister, ongoing holidays in both public and private institutions will continue until March 31. From April 1 onwards, regular classes will resume under a uniform policy across all districts, with no extensions to the break being considered.

Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized that reopening schools on time is crucial to prevent further learning loss. He urged students, teachers, and parents to complete their preparations for the resumption of classes. The Education Department has also issued instructions to school administrations to ensure a smooth and effective restart of academic activities.

The minister added that the government is taking serious measures to improve education quality and ensure timely completion of the curriculum. Attendance of students and performance of teaching staff will be closely monitored.

Earlier rumors about an extension of the holidays circulated on social media, but the minister clarified that such reports were false and urged the public to rely only on official sources. Following this announcement, students and parents now have a clear understanding of the academic schedule, and parents have welcomed the decision, expressing hope for uninterrupted educational activities.
