Four Levies Personnel Martyred in Armed Attack on Check Post in Khuzdar, Balochistan
Khuzdar:In a tragic incident in Balochistan, four Levies personnel were martyred after unidentified armed assailants attacked the Samand Levies check post in Khuzdar district.
Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Yasir Iqbal Dashti, confirmed the incident and stated that the attack was launched from a mountainous area near the check post. The Levies personnel, who were on duty at the time, came under sudden gunfire.
According to DC Dashti, an exchange of fire between the attackers and Levies forces continued for some time. However, due to the rugged terrain, the assailants managed to escape.
As a result of the firing, four Levies personnel lost their lives. The authorities have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the attackers. The bodies of the martyred personnel have been shifted to the Teaching Hospital for necessary procedures.
Security has been heightened in the region, and investigations are underway. The attack marks another grim reminder of the ongoing security challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in Balochistan.
