PTI Demands Resignation of Chief Election Commissioner and All Election Commissioners Following Supreme Court Verdict
Islamabad: After the Supreme Court’s landmark decision on specific seats, PTI leaders held a press conference in Islamabad and openly criticized the government. Omar Ayub stated that the Chief Election Commissioner and all Election Commissioners should resign. Shehbaz Faraz remarked that the cases they built fell apart like house of cards, but the courts are delivering justice, and the decision will be written in golden letters in history. Party Chairman Barrister Gohar hailed the Supreme Court’s decision on specific seats as historic, stating that a two-thirds majority has closed the path to constitutional amendment.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad with other leaders, Omar Ayub further emphasized PTI’s repeated assertion that upholding the Constitution and the law is crucial, advocating for transparent elections. He said the decision will strengthen democracy, with PTI forming the next government. He stressed that the Chief Election Commissioner and all Election Commissioners should resign.
Barrister Gohar said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is grateful to all forces, PTI workers, and Pakistan for a joyous day, as the Election Commission declared PTI intra-party elections unlawful due to disqualification. He said that the Supreme Court decided that PTI was and is a political party, and tickets were issued across the country, despite our representatives being deprived of tickets. PTI is one and will remain one, with no favoritism.
During the press conference, PTI leaders spoke to the media beforehand. Party Chairman Barrister Gohar said the Supreme Court’s decision would be written in history, urging the public to perform their religious obligations today. Finally, 25 crore people are happy today, and justice has been done in favor of PTI. During this time, intense chanting was also carried out by PTI workers.
Senator Shehbaz Faraz, PTI leader, said, ‘Today is a memorable day in Pakistan’s political and democratic history, and we have received half a mandate, our struggle is not over yet.’ Senator Shehbaz Faraz of PTI said that he appreciates the courts and we have got specific seats and justice has been promoted by the decision.
Hameed Raza, leader of the Sunni Alliance Council, said the Supreme Court today gave the rightful owner his right, the Election Commission tried to steal the mandate, and the Supreme Court expressed no confidence in the Election Commission. Immediately resign the Chief Election Commissioner.
Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI is the largest party in the National Assembly, the present government is not standing on its own feet, and the PPP is the second largest party in Parliament. Fawad Chaudhry said that the Muslim League N is the third largest party in Parliament.
