Retired Air Commodore Khalid Chishti Highlights Pakistan Air Force’s Edge Over India Despite Budget Constraints

Islamabad:Retired Air Commodore Khalid Chishti has emphasized that while India’s defense budget far exceeds Pakistan’s total national budget, wars are not won by wealth alone but by the strength of **faith, training, and national resolve**.
Speaking on recent regional tensions and the comparative capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Chishti said, *“Pakistan has never fought wars out of arrogance or because of superior numbers. We fight with the spirit of belief and duty to defend our nation.”*
He added that **Pakistan’s pilot training standards are among the best globally**, which is why many countries send their personnel to train with the PAF.
### **Missile and Air Superiority**
Discussing technological advancements, Chishti noted significant progress made by the PAF in the past five years.
He explained that while India’s Rafale jets have a missile range of 150 km, **Pakistan’s J-10C jets are equipped with PL-15 missiles**, capable of striking targets at a **range of 200 km**, giving Pakistan a distinct advantage in air-to-air combat.
Additionally, the **JF-17 Thunder jets have been upgraded** and can now carry **up to four missiles per sortie**, compared to the older one-missile loadout.
### **Advancements in Cyber and Drone Warfare**
Chishti further highlighted **Pakistan’s strides in cyber warfare and unmanned aerial technology**, noting that the country has made **remarkable advancements in drone systems**, which are now a critical component of modern defense strategy.
He praised the PAF’s ongoing modernization and strategic focus, stating, *“Our edge lies not just in machines, but in the unmatched morale and training of our forces.”*
