Pakistan Achieves Breakthrough with First Horizontal Oil Well in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Pakistan has made a significant breakthrough in the oil and gas sector, with the launch of production from its first-ever horizontal well, a development experts are calling a potential game changer for the country’s economy.
The discovery was made at well number 13 in the Pasakhi field near Hyderabad, where oil production has officially begun using advanced horizontal drilling techniques. Unlike traditional vertical wells previously used in Pakistan, this project employed modern geo-steering technology to enhance efficiency and output.
Officials confirmed that the well is currently producing around 460 barrels of oil per day, marking a notable achievement for local engineers and highlighting the country’s growing capabilities in advanced energy technologies.
The new discovery is expected to boost domestic crude oil production and could play a key role in easing Pakistan’s ongoing energy challenges, opening new avenues for future exploration and development in the sector.
