PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Upcoming Malaysia Visit Likely to Be Postponed Amid Regional Tensions

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s scheduled two-day visit to Malaysia next week is likely to be postponed due to rising regional tensions, particularly amid escalating Pakistan-India relations, sources revealed on Saturday.
The visit, originally planned for May 8 and 9 in Kuala Lumpur, was expected to include several high-level meetings. However, in light of the current domestic and regional security situation, the trip may be deferred, sources close to the matter said.
Officials cited increasing geopolitical uncertainty and internal developments as key factors contributing to the potential delay in the Prime Minister’s international engagement.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umrah, where they reportedly discussed the prevailing political and security landscape of the country.
The final decision regarding the visit’s postponement is expected to be officially announced in the coming days, depending on how the regional situation evolves.
