All Pakistan Public Transport Owners Federation Announces 15% Reduction in Bus Fares

Islamabad: The All Pakistan Public Transport Owners Federation has announced a 15 percent reduction in bus fares following the recent decrease in diesel prices.
Earlier, goods transporters had also announced a 15 percent cut in freight charges, while the Mini Mazda Goods Transport Association reduced its fares by 10 percent.
Following the reduction in petroleum product prices, transporters in Gujranwala have also lowered fares. However, intercity transport fares in Muzaffargarh remain unchanged, prompting citizens to urge the district administration to take immediate steps to ensure fare reductions.
Meanwhile, commuters in Peshawar have expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of any decrease in transport fares despite the drop in fuel prices.
Transport operators said that the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has not yet issued a revised fare schedule, which has delayed the implementation of reduced fares in some areas.
