Pakistan Has Abundant Water, Needs Better Utilization: Haroon Akhtar

LAHORE – Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar has said that Pakistan possesses ample water resources, but the key challenge lies in improving their utilization.

While addressing a gathering of traders and industrialists in Lahore, Akhtar emphasized the importance of efficient water management, particularly for boosting agricultural productivity. “Pakistan has a lot of water, we just need to use it more effectively,” he stated.

He also highlighted the government’s efforts to support both salaried individuals and the business community by offering tax relief. “If industries thrive, tax revenues will naturally increase,” he said.

Akhtar further stressed the need for farmers to enhance crop yields to meet international standards, signaling the government’s focus on modernizing agriculture and supporting economic growth.
