Heavy Rain and Winds Disrupt Power Supply Across Punjab, Several Areas Affected

Lahore, Punjab – April 2025**: A series of heavy rains, accompanied by strong winds, have caused widespread power outages across various cities in Punjab. On Thursday, **strong winds of up to 100 km/h** followed by heavy rainfall led to the tripping of more than **565 feeders** in Lahore alone.
In **Faisalabad**, the situation was equally severe, with **150 feeders tripping** due to the downpour. In **Islamabad**, however, over **80% of feeders** have already been restored, bringing some relief to residents there.
Cities like **Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Kamonki, Hafizabad, Sialkot, and Wazirabad** were also impacted by the rainstorm, experiencing power outages and disruptions. **Chakwal, Jhelum**, and **Bahawalnagar** were also affected by rainfall, further intensifying the disruption.
Meanwhile, **Mianwali** saw **heavy downpours** along with **hailstorms**, adding to the severity of the weather conditions. In **Sargodha**, a tragic incident occurred when a **house wall collapsed**, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to **four children**.
The power utility companies are working to restore electricity across the affected areas, though intermittent disruptions are expected due to the ongoing rain and stormy conditions.
