Director General of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA), Dr. Muhammad Amjad, has been appointed as the head of the working group. The group has been tasked with presenting its recommendations to the Home Secretary within a week.

According to the Punjab Home Department, the PFSA will be responsible for collecting DNA records. Additionally, the DNA profiles of inmates currently held in the province’s prisons will also be included in the database.

A spokesperson for the Home Department stated that the DNA database will play a crucial role in the timely identification of suspects involved in serious crimes.
