Pakistan Ranked 5th Among Countries Most Affected by Climate Change

Islamabad: Pakistan has been ranked as the 5th most climate-affected country in the world. Climate change is considered one of the most significant security threats facing humanity today.
According to a recent report, as part of its strong risk communication strategy, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has expanded efforts to raise awareness about climate risks among the public. Focused on fostering a culture of preparedness in communities, the initiative emphasizes climate change, risk profiles, and region-specific hazards.
To further educate and inform, the NDMA has initiated a series of documentary films, the latest of which highlights how Community Emergency Response Teams in Gilgit-Baltistan are empowering local volunteers to respond effectively to disasters. These teams are being trained to enhance resilience in one of Pakistan’s most vulnerable regions, ultimately saving lives.
A spokesperson for the NDMA stated that through training and community involvement, these teams are building resilience in the country’s most at-risk areas and making a significant impact in disaster management efforts.
