National Games in Karachi Postponed Once Again by Sindh Olympics Association

Karachi:The Sindh Olympics Association has once again postponed the National Games, which were scheduled to begin on May 1 in Karachi. In an official letter issued to all relevant departments, the association cited “unavoidable circumstances” as the reason behind the postponement.
This was a significant event for Sindh, as the province was set to host the National Games after a gap of 18 years. However, sources indicate that the decision to delay the event was primarily due to the ongoing heatwave, extreme weather conditions, and the concurrent intermediate board exams.
Critics, however, have pointed out that both the summer heat and the exam schedules were well known in advance. Despite this, preparations for the games remained incomplete. According to insiders, key sports facilities were not upgraded, no official logo for the National Games was finalized, and the torch relay could not be launched.
It is also worth noting that the National Games were initially planned for February but were rescheduled to May due to organizational delays—ironically pushing them into the peak summer season.
The new dates for the National Games will be announced at a later time.
