Amanullah Kanrani Advocates for Legal Scrutiny of Supreme Court Phone Tapping Allegations

Quetta:Former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Amanullah Kanrani, has highlighted longstanding concerns regarding allegations of phone tapping before judges, dating back to the 1990s. In a recent statement, Kanrani remarked that these allegations surfaced during the era of Benazir Bhutto’s government, among other accusations aimed at undermining the judiciary.

Kanrani emphasized that such practices have persisted unchecked for decades, with no accountability imposed on those responsible. He expressed frustration that individuals often escape legal consequences after allegations are confirmed, citing a pattern where illegal activities are first tolerated and then retroactively sanctioned through legal proceedings.

He concluded by stating that all actions taken in this regard are now subject to legal scrutiny. Kanrani pointed out a prevailing trend in Pakistan where illegal actions persist unchecked, only to be legalized afterward, leaving politicians particularly susceptible to allegations of phone tapping and recordings.
