Rakesh Roshan Steps Down as Director for ‘Krrish 4’, Passes the Baton to a New Director

Bollywood’s former actor, director, and producer Rakesh Roshan has revealed that he will not be directing *Krrish 4*, the latest installment of the highly successful *Krrish* franchise, in which his son, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, will play the lead role.

In a recent interview, Rakesh Roshan shared that he felt it was time to pass on the responsibility of directing the film to someone else. He explained, “It’s better to hand over the reins now while I am still in my senses, so I can oversee the entire process and ensure everything is going as it should. Tomorrow, if I’m not in my right mind and have to pass on the project, I won’t even know what they are making.” He further mentioned that even under his direction, there was no guarantee that the film would be a hit.

Reports have also emerged suggesting that filmmaker Siddharth Anand’s production company, Marflix, has decided to back out from the project due to the staggering budget of around 700 crores. As a result, studios are reportedly hesitant to produce the film, especially after more than a decade since the release of *Krrish 3*.

According to sources, Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan recently had a meeting where they decided to personally approach studios across India to secure a profitable deal for *Krrish 4*.

The upcoming *Krrish 4* will be the fourth film in the franchise. The first film, *Koi Mil Gaya*, was released in 2003, followed by *Krrish* in 2006, which became one of the most successful films of its time. *Krrish 3* was released in 2013 and once again captivated audiences, making the *Krrish* series a beloved part of Indian cinema.
