Mishi Khan Lashes Out at Vulgar Content on Social Media and TV Dramas

Lahore: Actress and TV host **Mishi Khan** has expressed strong outrage over the growing trend of vulgar and inappropriate content on both **social media platforms and television dramas**.
Speaking to *Dawn News*, Mishi Khan said that indecent and immoral content has become widespread across all online platforms, including **Facebook and Instagram**, where, according to her, **girls are being “booked” online** and immoral activities are being openly advertised.
She criticized the content being shared on social media, saying that **women from rural areas are shown wearing revealing clothes and performing household chores like sweeping or fetching water in an indecent manner**, which she described as shameful and unacceptable.
Without naming anyone, Mishi Khan claimed that “almost every social media platform is now filled with indecent videos,” and people who share such material seem to have **no fear or sense of morality**. She added that she has personally seen posts offering “girls for booking” in **Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi**, which she called a deeply disturbing trend.
Mishi Khan urged content creators to **fear God** and **respect their family’s honor**, asking how such people could face their relatives after spreading vulgarity online.
The actress also condemned the increasing inclusion of **romantic and inappropriate scenes in TV dramas**, saying that even television—once known for family-friendly content—has now begun to cross moral boundaries.
She said, “Now, dramas show male and female actors lying under the same blanket, along with other inappropriate scenes. This is not what Pakistani television used to represent.”
Mishi Khan reminded that in the past, **Pakistani dramas were admired internationally**, including in India, for their quality storytelling and cultural values. “Today,” she lamented, “we have lost that grace, and it’s unclear what kind of content our producers are trying to promote.”
Her remarks drew widespread agreement from social media users, many of whom also criticized the **rise of vulgar and explicit content** both online and on television.
