Clinical Trials Summit of Pakistan 2025: A Step Towards Advancing Medical Research

In a groundbreaking initiative, the **National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS)** and **Aga Khan University** have collaborated to host the **Clinical Trials Summit of Pakistan (CTSP) 2025**, aimed at promoting clinical trials in Pakistan.
The five-day conference, held simultaneously in **Rawalpindi** and **Karachi**, provided a platform for both local and international experts to exchange research and experiences. The event brought together professionals from around the world to discuss advancements in medical research and clinical trials.
On **February 14**, a symposium was also held at the **Army Medical College, Rawalpindi**, where **Lieutenant General Arshad Naseem**, the **Surgeon General of Pakistan Army**, attended as the chief guest. During his speech, General Naseem emphasized the pivotal role of clinical trials in modern medicine. He stated that clinical trials are the foundation of innovative treatments, bringing revolutionary changes to medical practices and saving lives. He also highlighted that clinical trials are not only a source of innovation for Pakistan but also an effective approach to addressing specific public health challenges.
The summit featured presentations by distinguished experts, including **Dr. Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman** from Malaysia, **Dr. Sheilan Siddiqui** from Canada, **Dr. Karen Walsh** from the UK, **Dr. Christine Sin** from the USA, and **Dr. Saeed Hamid** from Pakistan, all of whom contributed valuable insights into the field of clinical trials.
At the conclusion of the conference, **Lieutenant General (R) Wasim Alamgir** and the chief guest presented commemorative shields to the distinguished speakers in recognition of their contributions.
