Army Chief Reiterates Pakistan’s Desire for Peace but Warns Against Cross-Border Terrorism from Afghan Soil

**Islamabad (Daily Qudrat)** — Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, **Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir**, has said that the **Afghan Taliban government has provided full support and facilitation to India-backed terrorist groups** instead of taking action against them.
According to the **Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)**, the Army Chief made these remarks during a meeting with **tribal elders in Peshawar**, where he appreciated their unwavering support and cooperation with security forces amid recent **Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions**.
Earlier, at the **Peshawar Corps Headquarters**, Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed on the **current security situation and operational preparedness** along the western border.
Addressing the jirga, the Army Chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace with all neighboring countries, **particularly Afghanistan**, but made it clear that **Pakistan will not tolerate terrorism originating from Afghan soil**.
He emphasized that despite Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic efforts to improve relations with Kabul in recent years, **the Taliban administration failed to act against India-sponsored terrorist outfits and instead extended them every possible facility**.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also **commended the sacrifices and resilience of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa** in the nation’s fight against terrorism.
According to the ISPR, the tribal elders **endorsed the Army Chief’s stance**, declaring that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa **stand firmly with the Pakistan Army for peace and stability**. They reiterated their rejection of extremist ideologies and reaffirmed their **full support for the military’s operations against terrorism**, as well as a **clear position against the Afghan Taliban’s inaction**.
Upon his arrival in Peshawar, the **Corps Commander Peshawar** received the Army Chief.
