Massive Wildfires in California Cause Widespread Destruction, At Least 5 Dead
Los Angeles, California: Wildfires in California have caused extensive damage, with at least five confirmed deaths. The destruction continues to unfold as officials assess the full extent of the damage. Based on the current data, experts are labeling these fires as some of the most devastating in modern American history.
The wildfires, which have affected two major locations in Southern California, have been named ‘Palisades Fire’ and ‘Eaton Fire’. The ‘Palisades Fire’ has already engulfed more than 17,000 acres, while the ‘Eaton Fire’ has destroyed over 13,000 acres.
The ‘Palisades Fire’ alone has destroyed around 5,300 buildings, and the ‘Eaton Fire’ has reduced more than 4,000 buildings to ash. U.S. authorities have ordered over 180,000 residents to evacuate the affected areas.
Experts estimate that the financial losses caused by the fires could reach $150 billion, with the potential for further significant increases as the situation develops.
U.S. President Joe Biden has pledged to cover 100% of the damages caused by these catastrophic wildfires.
