Pakistan Gains Access to World’s Fastest Undersea Internet Cable

In a major development for Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, the country has officially gained access to the world’s fastest undersea internet cable. Known as the *”2Africa Submarine Cable,”* this state-of-the-art network is set to improve internet connectivity by linking Pakistan with several regions, including the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

According to reports, the cable spans an impressive 45,000 kilometers and is equipped with 46 landing stations across 33 countries. The cable was first installed under the sea off the coast of Africa, before reaching Oman and ultimately connecting to Karachi’s Hawksbay Beach.

The *”2Africa Submarine Cable”* is expected to significantly boost internet speeds and meet the growing demand for digital content and internet services in Pakistan. Aamiruddin, the Chief Technical Officer of Transworld, the company responsible for bringing the cable to Pakistan, highlighted the milestone, calling it a “key achievement for Digital Pakistan.” He emphasized that this project will not only enhance internet speeds but also increase the demand for internet cables and content in the country.

This is not Transworld’s first contribution to Pakistan’s internet infrastructure; the company had previously connected Pakistan with two other undersea cables. With the addition of the *2Africa Submarine Cable*, Pakistan is set to see improved digital connectivity and faster internet speeds, benefiting both businesses and individuals alike.
