Punjab Engulfed in Dense Fog, Several Motorways Closed for Traffic
Lahore:Punjab has once again been engulfed in dense fog, leading to the closure of multiple motorways across the region. According to the Motorway Police, severe fog has forced the closure of several sections of the motorway in Punjab.
The spokesperson stated that the M-2 motorway, from Thokar Niaz Baig to Hiran Minar, has been closed for traffic due to the fog. Additionally, the M-3 motorway from Faizpur to Jaranwala and the M-11 motorway from Mahmood Booti Toll Plaza to Kala Shah Kaku have also been shut for all traffic.
Motorway Police have advised drivers and citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and take extra precautions while driving in such conditions.
The weather forecast for the country predicts cold and dry conditions for most regions today, with moderate to heavy fog likely to persist in Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Meteorological Department also predicts dense fog in parts of the Pothohar region, Kashmir, and some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
