FIR Registered Over Alleged Abduction of Sanam Javed in Peshawar

Peshawar: On the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, an FIR has been registered over the alleged abduction of political activist Sanam Javed near the Civil Officers Mess in Peshawar Cantonment.
According to the spokesperson for the Chief Minister, the FIR was lodged at Peshawar’s East Police Station on the complaint of Advocate Hira Babar, daughter of Muhammad Babar Shoaib. CM Gandapur has ordered a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.
The spokesperson stated that legal proceedings have begun to arrest the unidentified individuals involved in the abduction. He added that those found guilty of participating in any unlawful act will be punished in accordance with the law. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, he said, is utilizing all available resources to ensure justice for Sanam Javed.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to upholding justice, law, and human dignity, the spokesperson said, “In our province, justice is not delivered through slogans but through concrete action.”
He further noted that Sanam Javed was allegedly abducted near the Civil Officers Mess in Peshawar Cantonment, and that decisive action was being taken under the direction of a “strong Chief Minister.”
Drawing a comparison with Punjab, the spokesperson remarked that while an assassination attempt on Imran Khan occurred under the Punjab government, even an FIR could not be registered at that time — underscoring, in his view, the difference in governance and resolve between the two provinces.
