Lahore High Court Declares Imran Khan’s Plea in Defamation Case Against Shehbaz Sharif Inadmissible

Lahore:The Lahore High Court has declared **Imran Khan’s** plea inadmissible in the defamation case filed by **Shehbaz Sharif** against the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Justice **Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal** of the Lahore High Court, who had reserved his decision in the case on Monday, announced the verdict on Tuesday. The court dismissed Imran Khan’s plea against the trial court’s decision allowing written testimony from witnesses in the defamation case.

Imran Khan had argued in his plea that the trial court had allowed witnesses to submit written testimonies, which he claimed was contrary to the facts. He contended that witnesses should be required to testify in person in the courtroom.

In his petition, Imran Khan requested that the trial court’s decision be declared null and void. However, the Lahore High Court ruled against his request, upholding the trial court’s decision to allow written testimony from witnesses in the defamation suit.
