Ali Amin Gandapur Announces to Follow Imran Khan’s Every Decision, Including Civil Disobedience
Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced that they will follow every decision made by PTI Chairman Imran Khan, including the call for civil disobedience. In a conversation with international media representatives at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, Gandapur emphasized that PTI’s policies during Imran Khan’s tenure had successfully maintained law and order, whereas after the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government took charge, security conditions deteriorated. He claimed that state institutions were being diverted from their core responsibilities to focus on eliminating PTI.
Gandapur further stated that when he assumed office, the situation in the province was critical. However, efforts have been made to improve conditions, especially by strengthening police forces in frontline areas and merging districts. He mentioned that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s performance in tackling terrorism and meeting International Monetary Fund (IMF) targets had been commendable, with the province’s revenue increasing by 44% in the past nine months.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that although the province still faces challenges regarding law and order, they are working on resolving them. He noted that in the past six months, the provincial government had released more developmental funds than previous administrations had in an entire year. He added that local governance had been enhanced by empowering the public, and a new portal had been established to address citizens’ complaints.
Regarding energy, Gandapur highlighted the creation of a special mining company for better resource management and the installation of a power transmission line to supply electricity from local power plants. He also underlined the importance of these initiatives for the province’s progress.
On foreign relations, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for talks with Afghanistan, especially given the long border between the two countries. He expressed concern that despite discussions in the federal and provincial apex committees, there had been no concrete steps taken to resolve issues with Afghanistan.
He also reiterated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been bearing the brunt of the security challenges along the Afghan border, with sacrifices from the provincial police and security forces. He criticized the federal government for not taking serious actions regarding the border situation.
Ali Amin Gandapur expressed frustration over the disappearance of PTI workers and casualties, claiming that 68 PTI workers had been injured by gunfire. He called for the restoration of their constitutional rights and demanded the release of Imran Khan and the return of the “stolen mandate.”
Regarding civil disobedience, Gandapur confirmed that the decision had been made by Imran Khan, and they are prepared to implement his orders as soon as clarification is received on how to proceed. He also described how PTI had rescued 100 Punjab police personnel, who were captured and safely returned after being fired upon. Gandapur claimed that PTI has made unmatched sacrifices in the name of democracy and true freedom.
