Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Criticizes Imran Khan, Calls Him a ‘Lesson in Humiliation
Islamabad:Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has strongly criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan, accusing him of falsely labeling him a “thief” and calling for Khan to become a “lesson in humiliation.” Addressing a ceremony in Narowal, Iqbal referred to a post by Imran Khan on social media, in which he had called Iqbal a “thief.” Iqbal revealed that, in response to the accusation, he had prayed that if the allegation was true, he should be destroyed, but if it was false, the person making the accusation should be turned into an example of disgrace.
“I prayed that if I had committed any theft in this country, may Allah destroy me. But if the accusation was false, may Allah make the accuser an example of disgrace,” Iqbal stated. “Today, as Imran Khan sits in Adiala Jail, he has become the very ‘lesson in humiliation’ I prayed for,” he added.
**Criticizing Imran Khan’s Tenure**
Iqbal also took a dig at Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister, questioning his claims of progress and development. He asked PTI supporters if they truly believed that Imran Khan was a “visionary” or a “great leader.” “In four years, he became the master of both black and white, and no one questioned him,” Iqbal remarked, referring to the concentration of power in Khan’s hands during his rule.
Iqbal further criticized the lack of tangible progress under Khan’s leadership, stating, “Can anyone name a university, hospital, or motorway built during his tenure? No! He only opened free kitchens. The 29 kitchens that were opened across the country were not funded by the government but by a Karachi-based NGO, ‘Sailani Foundation.’ The government’s role was limited to merely approving them.”
**Highlighting Narowal’s Development**
In contrast to Imran Khan’s alleged failures, Iqbal emphasized the development of Narowal during his tenure. He said, “Today, Narowal has become a district that spreads knowledge. People from other cities come here to seek education. We have a high-quality hospital, and a medical college has been established. Next year, we are opening an agricultural college.”
Iqbal’s remarks were a sharp rebuttal to the claims made by the former government, highlighting the improvements in his constituency and stressing the importance of tangible development in the country.
