Imran Khan Demands FIR Against Mohsin Naqvi and Shehbaz Sharif Over D-Chowk Incident
Lahore: PTI Chairman Imran Khan has demanded that an FIR be filed against Mohsin Naqvi, the interim Punjab Chief Minister, and Shehbaz Sharif, the leader of the opposition, over the violence that took place at D-Chowk. Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, shared these details after visiting him at Adiala Jail on Tuesday.
Aleema Khan revealed that her brother had told her that he had instructed Bushra Bibi on how to lead the protest towards Islamabad, and that she followed his directions. Imran Khan’s sister also mentioned that while Khan was in shock over the D-Chowk incident, he was clear in stating that he would not rest until justice was served.
Imran Khan reportedly said, “The first FIR should be filed against Mohsin Naqvi and Shehbaz Sharif.” He also revealed that he still holds one last “card” to play, but would not disclose it yet. He plans to take the D-Chowk incident report to the Supreme Court and international institutions.
According to Aleema Khan, her brother has expressed frustration over the violence, where sniper fire led to several deaths. She claimed that some of the casualties remain missing, and families are still searching for their loved ones. She also emphasized that the situation was dire, as many people who went to hospitals seeking information were arrested.
Imran Khan has compared the D-Chowk incident to the military operations in Lal Masjid and Akbar Bugti, describing it as a calculated attack where snipers were used against unarmed protesters. He also mentioned that public anger is rising due to the continuous suppression of people’s rights.
Imran Khan, still in shock over the events of 9 May and the crackdown on protesters, has stated that the people’s frustration is understandable, given the long history of injustice they have faced. Aleema Khan further added that, despite being locked up for 50 hours in solitary confinement, Imran Khan’s health is stable, and he continues to demand accountability for the violence against PTI supporters.
During her visit, Aleema Khan also addressed reports suggesting that her brother was being poisoned or his mental state was deteriorating. She clarified that Khan’s health is fine and that he remains resolute in his pursuit of justice for the victims of the D-Chowk tragedy.
Imran Khan’s other two sisters, Azma Khan and Noreen Khan, also visited him at the jail.
The matter has drawn widespread attention, with calls for accountability growing among PTI supporters and the public alike.
