Murad Saeed Hid in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM House After Islamabad Protest: Information Minister

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ataullah Tarar, claimed that PTI leader Murad Saeed participated in the Islamabad protest alongside well-trained groups, who targeted police and Rangers with advanced weaponry.
In a joint press conference with the Secretary of the Interior and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Tarar stated that Saeed had been accompanied by armed groups who caused violence against security forces. He further alleged that Murad Saeed is currently hiding in the Chief Minister’s House in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but the authorities are reluctant to raid the residence for his arrest.
Tarar also criticized PTI for spreading false information on social media to cover up their failures, suggesting that the Islamabad protest involved armed rioters. He cited intelligence reports warning of potential violence and claimed that the protest in Islamabad was part of a premeditated plot to disrupt peace.
The Information Minister emphasized that the Islamabad High Court had not authorized the protest, labeling it illegal. He also claimed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had spent millions on the protest, and that 37 Afghan nationals were present among the demonstrators.
Tarar pointed out that nowhere in the world do protesters come armed, adding that the demonstrators opened fire on the security forces without provocation, resulting in the martyrdom of three Rangers personnel. He questioned whether these security personnel were not Pakistani citizens.
He further noted that during the protest, the police were not authorized to use weapons, and no such orders were given. The Secretary of the Interior also confirmed that no formal application had been filed for holding the rally, and property damage had occurred during the unrest.
