Qila Abdullah Sit-In: All Parties Announce Province-Wide Movement — Protests on the 7th, Symbolic Strike on the 8th, Complete Shutter-Down and Road Blockades on the 9th
Polio Campaign Could Be Restored After Consultation on the Insistence of Political Parties: Malik Kaleemullah Kakar's Important Announcement From the Stage of the Tang Masezai Martyrs' Sit-In
MIZAI ADDA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): All Parties have formally announced a phased joint protest schedule across all districts of the province in favour of various public and regional demands. Under the agreed course of action, strong protest demonstrations will be held in all district headquarters across Balochistan on the 7th, a symbolic strike will be observed on the 8th, while a complete shutter-down strike will be observed province-wide on the 9th and important national highways and connecting roads will be blocked.
On the other hand, Malik Kaleemullah Kakar, speaking from the stage of the ongoing Tang Masezai martyrs’ sit-in at Mizai Adda, made an important announcement that, in light of the appeal and consultation of political parties, the suspended polio campaign in the area could be restored from tomorrow. He made clear that, keeping in view the demand of political parties on this sensitive matter, serious consideration is being given to restoring the anti-polio campaign. After this announcement, possibilities have arisen for the resumption of the anti-polio campaign, which has been at a standstill in the area.
It may be recalled that the sit-in committee had announced a boycott of the polio campaign in protest against the Tang Masezai tragedy, due to which the activities of anti-polio teams had been suspended. The All Parties’ joint protest schedule and the sit-in committee’s indication of restoring the polio campaign are being regarded by political circles as an important development in the region’s current tense situation.
