Lasbela Police Arrest 3 Accused Involved in Bank Robbery; Arrested Accused Turn Out to Be Students of Lasbela University Othal

OTHAL (Daily Qudrat): Lasbela Police, carrying out a major operation, has dismantled the network involved in the biggest bank robbery in the history of National Bank — Rs2.02 billion — in district headquarters Othal during February 2025, and arrested 3 dangerous accused including the main accused. Surprisingly, the arrested accused turned out to be students of Lasbela University Othal. Two modern Honda Civic cars purchased from the robbed money, a cargo rickshaw, a Unique motorcycle, a heavy quantity of weapons and fake uniforms of security forces were recovered from the possession of the accused.
According to details, SSP Lasbela Najeebullah Pandrani, along with DSP Rai Haq Shah, SHO Othal Wahid Magsi, CIA In-charge Jan Muhammad Jamot and SHO Bela Yar Muhammad Commando, held a press conference at Othal police station and made sensational revelations. He said that a total of 5 accused — Zohaib, Bilal, Akram, Murtaza, Jawad and Hamid — were involved in the incident at National Bank Othal in February 2025. At the time of the incident, the uniforms of security forces that the accused were wearing had been ordered online.
According to SSP Lasbela, immediately after the robbery, when the accused were fleeing, the then SHO Yar Muhammad Commando pursued them, upon which the robbers opened indiscriminate fire, seriously injuring the SHO, and managed to escape after setting their vehicle on fire. However, police, expanding the scope of investigation on modern scientific and technical grounds, traced the accused and caught 3 robbers including the main accused Zohaib.
During the investigation, it was learned that the main accused Zohaib, whose account previously had only a few thousand rupees, suddenly had a huge amount of more than Rs1.7 billion transferred to his account after the incident. In addition, the accused also transferred Rs300 million to the account of a Hindu trader named Krishna, which was being used for EasyPaisa and other business transactions. Police have also recorded the trader’s statement.
SSP Najeebullah Pandrani, warning in clear and strict terms, said that Lasbela district will be made a hell for criminal elements. Those who rob the people of their property and lives can under no circumstances escape the grip of the law. He said that raids are being carried out to arrest the remaining absconding accused and the entire network will soon be behind bars.
