Salman Safdar Told Us That the PTI Founder Was Aware of the Emergency and Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Barrister Gohar

RAWALPINDI (Daily Qudrat): Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said that the first meeting with Barrister Salman Safdar took place after 8 April, which is welcome. This meeting took place after 380 days. Tension exists because meetings have been stopped; not allowing a prisoner to meet his family for 15 days is a violation of human rights. Had meetings taken place, things would have improved, and the situation in KP would not have reached the point of emergency and Governor’s Rule.

Barrister Gohar said that this meeting with the PTI founder was also our need. During the meeting, there was not much political discussion with the PTI founder. Salman Safdar did not bring anything that would become political news. Salman Safdar said that the PTI founder was aware of the emergency and Governor’s Rule. The PTI founder did not say that it was good that the KP government was dissolved.

He said that all KP members are with the PTI founder; there is no forward bloc. If such a situation arises, the PTI founder will make that decision. We have never supported an anti-state narrative on social media. We say openly that the government, the army and the state are ours; Pakistan first, politics after. I consider it a sin that non-political sisters are in jail. On my request, Noreen Niazi was kept in hospital for one more day.

The PTI Chairman said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has his own party and politics. I had said that it would have been appropriate if Maulana Fazlur Rehman had not said certain words, and the manner in which government representatives responded to it was also inappropriate.
