Karachi Introduces Barcode Tracking System for All Registered Water Tankers

KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced the implementation of a barcode tracking system for all registered water tankers operating in the city, aiming to improve transparency and eliminate illegal tanker operations.
In a statement, the mayor said the new barcode system will provide access to key information about each tanker, including its registration details, driver’s identity, assigned route, fitness status, and other relevant records.
He added that the system will also enable authorities to verify the identity of registered tankers and confirm the driver’s photograph through barcode scanning.
