PTI Parliamentary Party Backs Talks with Government for Removal of Governor’s Rule

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial parliamentary party has backed negotiations with the federal government to resolve issues including Governor’s Rule and emergency. According to sources, a meeting of PTI’s provincial parliamentary party was held in Peshawar, which was attended by more than 40 MPAs including former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Barrister Gohar and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri also participated in the meeting.
Parliamentary party sources said that the meeting took the position that a path should be paved through negotiations with the federal government to roll back the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency. According to sources, members said that after the end of Governor’s Rule and emergency, PTI’s mandate can be restored.
Some members proposed in the meeting that Ali Amin Gandapur be made part of the negotiation process with the federal government; with his participation, all matters can be taken forward through mutual consultation. Members were of the view that after the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency, the decision not to bring workers out for protest was a good one; had workers come onto the streets, incidents like 9 May could have been faced.
In this regard, PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai said that he is in favour of negotiations; the federal government should reduce bitterness and end Governor’s Rule and emergency. He said that if Ali Amin Gandapur is the parliamentary party’s choice for the negotiation process, no one should have any objection; Ali Amin Gandapur is Imran Khan’s old and loyal companion. Shaukat Yousafzai said that if anyone said anything against the institutions, it has no connection with PTI.
